Process of Calibration

There are three methods in which medical equipment can be calibrated.

  • Manual calibrations – This form of calibration is the most affordable choice of calibration. Manual calibration is somewhat inaccurate because not all who perform the task have proper calibration training.
  • Outsource calibrations – This type of calibration is just like manual calibration. However, an outsourcing company will do the calibration. All you must do is take your medical equipment to them and they will calibrate it for you.
    • Drawback: You will have to wait for the soonest possible time when your equipment can be calibrated, and it might also be expensive depending on the company.
  • Calibration software – Through the use of technology, software is now available to enable you to calibrate your own medical equipment. Quick and more accurate, requiring less time to finish.  Buying calibration software might be expensive but it will be a worthy investment in the long term.
